The FREE edition includes everything you need to create nice installations for your end-users.

The features of the Free Edition are:

• Integrated Debugger (Debug your Installations)

• Short cuts
• Files and Folders
• Action Designer, with access to installation event handlers
• Dialogs before downloading 
• Full documentation for accessing the Setup library

It is the real thing, it is not a crippled edition.
You  can create nearly any installation you want, because you can access the full setup library. Wiht the Free Edition you have all the functions of more expensive installers, and more.

The Free Edition is fully licensed;  your end-user cannot see that you used the Free Edition to create the installation.

Restrictions

We are also in the business of selling our software.  With this income we can make nice software, and that is what we think we do best. So to be able to continue this work for you we did limit the Free Edition to essential functionality for one-time installation:

• The Release Manager is not included, you cannot fine tune upgrades, nor can you create one-step upgrade scripts. 
• The upgrade facility will not not work, you cannot create small upgrade patches
• Multi-package is not included, this means that you cannot use setup types and features, and cannot create fine granular updates
• Installer inheritance is not part of the Free Edition
• restore to previous version is not included.
• You cannot add Dialogs to your installation. 
• Advanced options as registry settings, ActiveX registration etc are not accessible
• Some functions of the script, related to not implemented features, are not accessible.

And additionally:

• We do not provide E-mail support, but you are free to use the Forum if you have questions.
