LizaJet Installer only downloads files that are necessary, it checks first before downloading files, not only at first installation, but when upgrading.
LizaJet Installer checks if a package with the same version and built number is already on the computer of the end-user, and will not download and install them when they are the same.
Only selected features
LizaJet Installer will also only download and install packages for selected features, if your end-user does not want a feature, the corresponding packages are not downloaded.
Users benefit not only because the LizaJet Engine is relatively small, but especially because it is installed only once. Your end-users will appreciate this over the classic old fashioned approach of single file setup, because they do not have to download each time the sizable overhead of a complete Installation Engine.
With LizaJet Installer you can further limit the volume of data downloaded by:
- Do not download and install already installed software.
If a user has already the right software installed, it is not very clever to download and install it again. You can for instance check if the right version of the BDE is already installed, and when this is installed, skip the associated Dialogs, downloading and installation of the BDE package.
- First check the Computer configuration
If the user does not have the right configuration (wrong drivers, not enough disk space for installation) you can give a warning before starting the actual download. The user can first reconfigure the system before resuming the installation.
