1. What kind of server do I need when I distribute over the Internet?
Any Web server or FTP server will do. LizaJet Installer does not use proprietary technology or dedicated servers. You can choose your own servers, and decide yourself where your update files are hosted.
2. Can I also distribute from CD, and upgrade using the Internet?
You can distribute your software from CD. In this case the initial Setup program must refer to the CD and not to a Web Site. You can also instruct the Installer to install from CD, and upgrade over the Internet.
3. Do I first have to (re) install the Windows Installer?
Do not worry; LizaJet Installer does not use the Windows Installer.
4. What happens when a user clicks Cancel or Exit during an installation?
The original situation is restored.
During the installation an installation log is written. The installation log keeps track of all replaced and deleted files, modified registry settings, and stopped and started services. When the installation is cancelled the installation log is processed in reverse sequence. The files that were replaced or deleted during the installation are automatically restored from a backup folder.
5. How can the user uninstall to a previous version?
You must have set the property “Uninstall to previous version” in the General Properties of the package.
6. Are upgrades and patches also digitally signed?
Yes, all upgrade scripts and patches are also digitally signed, and the signature is checked after downloading to the installation cache.The signing is automatic, you only have to save your private key once, each time you build a package or setup file a digital signature is added. 7.

The LizaJet Downloader automatically recognized the proxy settings of Internet Exporer, Netscape Navigator and the Opera Browser.
